Give your ball a new look

Open Skins from the ball icon on the song-selection screen. Designs such as the watermelon ball have a displayed gem price, and purchased skins can be selected in the same menu.

Keep choosing your own songs

Choose a gem balance, apply it and return to song selection. Spend gems on the skin you want, then close the menu and pick a track.
